The conference
The BAI, as the lobby association for Alternative Investments in Germany, intends to bring participants at the BAI Alternative Investor Conference together to exchange their know-how and to contribute to the comprehension of Alternative Investment in the public. Alternative asset classes play an increasing role in the portfolio of institutional investors because of their positive qualities, for instance the risk minimisation or the higher return. As the acceptance has also grown in Germany, institutional investors invest more and more in Alternative Investments.
The conference offers asset manager, institutional investors, service provider and other interested participants an outstanding opportunity to exchange views on and experiences with Alternative Investments.
The Program
This conference, with its focus on alternative investments, is the annual meeting of the industry in Germany where asset manager, service provider and institutional investors have the opportunity to exchange views on and experiences with AI.
The two-day event has an interesting program with current topics in the field of Alternative Investments. Topics like absolute return, hedge funds, infrastructure, private equity, renewable energies and commodities will be discussed.
Long coffee breaks offer a perfect opportunity for an intensive networking and an exchange of ideas. On request we can offer further space for conversations in small groups in quiet surroundings.
Institutional investors are invited to attend a dinner on May 14, 2012 - the eve before the conference - and a second dinner on May 15.
Workshop, panel discussions and dinners for institutional investors*
Institutional endinvestors (insurances, endowments, pension funds, Versorgungswerke, single family offices) report about their experiences with Alternative Investments and discuss topics like Hedge Funds, Timber, Infrastructure, Commodities, Private Equity, Renewable Energies and other top issues of the day in small groups.
Following a panel discussion in the workshop, the participants, which are solely members of the target audience of end investors, have the opportunity to ask questions to the panelistst and discuss within the group.
Furthermore we have extended the social programm - BAI is planning to invite the investors to two dinners in exclusive locations (May 14 and May 15).
*Endinvestors are organizations that exclusively invest on their own behalf in Alternative Investments and do not sell products to others.

Exhibition space
Gold sponsors may use a small exhibtion area in the Ludwig-Erhard-Saal. They will demonstrate their products and services. Again, institutional investors will have the opportunity to get the first information from the produt supplier and – on request – get into direct contact.
