Achim Pütz

Achim Pütz studied law at the Rhenish Friedrich Wilhelm University of Bonn.

From 2003 to 2010, he led the German Financial Services Practice Group at SJ Berwin LLP as a partner and from 2010 to April 2019 he worked in the same function and as Managing Partner at the Frankfurt office for the American law firm Dechert LLP.

Achim Pütz is the founder and chairman of Bundesverband Alternative Investments e.V. and was a council member of the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA) for many years. He is the author of numerous articles for investment and insurance regulatory publications and a sought-after speaker at industry events.

Achim Pütz has been a partner at Luther since May 2019.

Achim Pütz has comprehensive experience in providing legal advice to German and international clients regarding traditional and alternative investment funds and is specialised in the conception, documentation and distribution of structured financial products and packaging solutions. He advises regulated and non-regulated institutional investors on their investments in complex alternative investment structures, in particular hedge and commodity funds, real estate and infrastructure funds as well as debt and private equity funds.
